This meet, greet, & nostalgia event has been postponed till the early spring when hopefully more of you will attend.

The location is  Ground Central Coffee located at 659 Sunrise Hwy, Lynbrook in Philips Plaza. There is ground level and underground parking (entrance to underground parking is on Broadway).  https://www.groundcentral.com/gc5
Sometimes it gets crowded so please arrive on time. Buy your coffee or tea and join us. If the space is available, I’ll be in the back. Look for me wearing a blue cap that reads “USA" and had an American Flag in front with an Eagle. Space is limited so will cap this at 20.
Bring your memories and sense of humor, after introductions, I will lead a discussion on nostalgia topics.  This meeting is open to non-smoking singles aged 65 and over. Let's unwind, have some fun, and meet new friends.


            This group is for single residents of western Nassau County NY or Eastern Queens who are 65 old or older.
          I believe there are many potential soulmates for each of us. We need only find one of them to become our significant other.
	 Even without Newsday’s Tuesday singles events column, there are still singles discussion groups (I miss the one that used to be at the Oceanside JCC every Monday evening). There are also mature singles at meetups and on this site. Many of us have gone to singles’ events to meet someone we’re attracted to, and start a conversation with them, or have joined a few dating sites to meet potential suitors. Although I understand physical attraction (pictures) are the hook for many of us before we contact someone, we find many care more about chronological age, or political leaning than personality, energy, or activity age. Sure, some of those who contact us, we’re not interested in, and the ones we are interested may not be attracted to us, but the goal is to meet someone who is willing to take the time to get to know us. 
	Some years back, I started a meetup, but soon after I was involved in a relationship that lasted years, so I gave up that meetup. Have also thought about starting a dating site where one would just input their birth decade or age group (ie baby boomers), and the decade(s) or age group they’re interested in meeting instead of their birth year thus allowing potential suitors to be attracted by who you are and/or your looks instead of your age. Settled on starting this group. I believe there are many of you with similar experiences and concerns so starting this page as a way for us to find each other. Suggestions for events from members are welcomed.

About me:
	I’m good company and have many friends and acquaintances to confirm that. I stay busy with 
volunteer work, veteran activities (for which I’ve received recognition and awards), taking online or in-person courses, watching TV, surfing the internet, reading, or writing (I’m a published author and also write jokes).  I consider myself a fairly intelligent, considerate man with great who, I’m told, does not look his age but regardless. I’m not lonely or desperate but I do want to meet a woman who (like me) has a sense of humor, laughs or smiles often, and is slim to the lighter side of average to be my best friend and significant other.  Women who do take the time to know me, find me real, fun, humorous, and usually like me. Some women are not interested in the physical intimacy part of a relationship but like many, I want both emotional, and physical intimacy as well as, companionship and friendship. I offer the same.
