Cheering on marathon runners is so much fun! You see them dressed in Scottish kilts, Eiffel Tower hats, and there’s NYC fire and police groups — it’s a joy to help them with some energy towards the end of the race. NYC spectators are known the would over for being the most enthusiastic and is brings over 20,000 runners from all over the planet coming back year after year.
Fifth Avenue and East 89th is Mile 23 in the race. Runners go up a gradual incline as they run up Fifth Avenue, and they definitely seeking motivation at this point. They also see the turn into Central Park at East 90th and they start to kick it! Almost over!
